Privacy Policy

BAC Pest Control (“BAC”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of the people we serve. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we collect it, why we collect it, and your rights regarding that information.
This policy applies to our website at bacpestcontrol.ca and all pest control services we provide in Ontario, Canada. We comply with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
When you request a quote, book a service, or contact us, we collect:
- Full name
- Phone number
- Email address
- Service address (street address and city)
- Description of the pest issue
- Any health or sensitivity information you choose to share (e.g., allergies, pets)
You are never required to provide more information than is necessary to perform the service. We will not ask for government ID, Social Insurance Numbers, or payment card details over the phone or by email.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, analytics tools automatically collect non-identifying usage data. See Section 4 for full details.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide to:
- Respond to quote requests and schedule pest control services
- Contact you before and after service appointments
- Send written treatment reports and follow-up reminders
- Issue and process invoices
- Comply with Ontario pesticide licensing records requirements
- Improve our services based on feedback
We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making, profiling, or targeted advertising. We do not add you to marketing lists without your explicit consent.
3. Disclosure of Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We disclose information only in these limited circumstances:
- Service delivery: If a job requires a subcontractor, we share only the minimum information needed, and only with your knowledge.
- Legal obligations: If required by law, court order, or Ontario regulatory authority (e.g., pesticide records for the Ministry of the Environment).
- Business transition: In the event of a sale or transfer of our business, subject to equivalent privacy protections.
In all other cases, your information stays within BAC Pest Control.
4. Website Analytics & Cookies
Our website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use our site and help us improve content and usability.
What Google Analytics collects
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- How you arrived at our site (search engine, referral, direct)
- General geographic location (city/region — never your street address)
- Device type, operating system, and browser
- Click and scroll interactions
IP addresses: GA4 anonymizes IP addresses by default. Your full IP address is never stored.
No personal identification: Analytics data is aggregated and is never linked to information you submit in our contact or quote forms.

We do not use advertising cookies, remarketing pixels, or any third-party tracking beyond Google Analytics.
How to opt out

- Use your browser's built-in cookie controls or private/incognito mode
- Enable “Do Not Track” in your browser settings

5. How Long We Keep Your Information
- Client service records: Minimum 7 years from date of last service
- Pesticide application records: Minimum 5 years (Ontario Pesticides Act)
- Enquiries with no booked service: Deleted within 12 months
- Google Analytics data: 14 months, then auto-deleted by Google
6. Your Rights Under PIPEDA
You have the right to:
- Access — Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction — Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Withdrawal of consent — Withdraw consent to non-essential use of your information
- Complaint — File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada
Email info@bacpestcontrol.ca to exercise any of these rights. We respond within 30 days.
7. Security
Our website uses HTTPS encryption for all data in transit. Client records are access-controlled and available only to BAC personnel with a need to know. No electronic system is 100% secure — if you believe your information has been compromised, contact us immediately.
8. Third-Party Links
Our website may link to third-party sites. Once you leave our site, this Privacy Policy no longer applies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites.
9. Children's Privacy
Our website and services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us to have any such information deleted promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy at any time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated effective date. For significant changes affecting how we use your personal information, we will notify active clients directly where reasonably possible.
